The more experienced you are

Sometimes you need to clarify what you want to achieve in order to know what you need to do. And sometimes you need to do something in order to discover what you’re trying to achieve.

How do you know when you should choose one approach or the other?

Rule of thumb: the more experienced you are at doing something, the more you can anticipate outcomes accurately. In other words, your ability to project yourself into the future is proportional to your ability to recall similar past actions.
